Since their first release in 2019, Roebuck’s vintage sparkling wines have won numerous trophies and awards in prestigious wine competitions including a Best in Show and a Platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards. They have six vineyards across Sussex and Kent growing the classic trio of Champagne grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Each vineyard has been planted with carefully selected varieties and clones best suited to that land. The wines undergo extended lees ageing to build complexity, and are made in a beautifully refined style.
Their Classic Cuvée is crafted from a harmonious blend of 42% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir and 14% Pinot Meunier from the Roebuck and Little Brockhurst vineyards, West Sussex. Partial fermentation in old Burgundian oak barrels followed by extended bottle ageing for a minimum of three years on lees imparts depth, richness and complexity to this wine before disgorgement and dosage to 6g/l
Rich, yet pale lemon in colour. Notes of baked pears and citrus fruits are layered with a toasty richness and hint of sweet spice. Delicate bubbles linger on the palate leading to a long, beautifully balanced finish; this is a wonderful example of top quality English sparkling wine
