40% Petit Manseng; 60% Gros Manseng grown on clay-silica soils on the heat retaining pudding stone base rock that characterises the best vineyards. This sweet wine is late harvested in October without botrytis, but when the sugars, acidity and flavours have concentrated in the grapes. The Gros Manseng is matured in vat, while the Petit Manseng ages on lees in barrel. Aromas of dried peach and mango, hints of lime marmalade. Sweet and delicious with a lemony tang on the finish which gives freshness and balance; lighter than a Sauternes.
This would be superb with fruit-based desserts where a touch of elegance is required as well as sweetness.
