This is made from hand-harvested Pinot Gris from the winery’s 19 year old home block vineyard. Extremely gentle winemaking: whole bunch pressed, gravity-fed from press area to main winery, cool fermentation, minimal pumping, extended lees contact and no fining pre-bottling. 10% of the wine is barrel-aged to add complexity
An enticing nose of honeyed pear and melon, orange blossom, hints of almond and ginger some balanced acidity offsetting the plump silky palate. Drier than most NZ Pinot Gris, which allows the true flavour of the wine to shine through. Plenty of drinking pleasure on offer here for the price.
